CELEBRATING 70 YEARS OF DESIGN
SEIBERT ARCHITECTS: HISTORY & ARCHITECTURAL WORKS
The book presents the built and unbuilt works of Tim Seibert and Seibert Architects. Within these pages are residential, commercial, and civic works, many of which still serve the community of Sarasota today. From 1955 to today, the work reflects a blend of modernism and regional sensitivity, noteworthy for its restraint and deep connection to place.
This book is a tribute to Edward J. “Tim” Seibert, FAIA, a leader in the Sarasota School of Architecture, and the architectural ethos and community he helped shape. Through archival photographs, renderings, drawings, writings, and new documentation, it traces the evolution of the architectural legacy of the Sarasota School of Architecture in the office of Seibert Architects.
For those who are not familiar with Sarasota in the 1950s and 60s, the early works provide a view into the formative era in the city’s architectural and cultural history. For those who are old enough, perhaps this book will evoke fond memories of simpler times.
